TCC's 1st Annual Missions Conference

A Ministry of the Missions Team
"Our first annual Missions Conference is coming up on Sunday, March 7.  We have a number of missionaries coming to share with us about their experiences and how we can get involved in missions individually and as a body.  As a part of this exciting event, we are planning a church-wide international luncheon after the worship service to be held in the Banquet Hall.  While everyone is invited of course, we are also asking you, church family, to prepare an international food item.  This will kind of be along the lines of the Fish and Loaves type of lunch where everyone in the church brings something except in this case, it's food from around the world. If you have trouble finding recipes or ideas, please feel free to let Lisa Godfrey or Rob Sullivan know.  There will also be recipes available this Sunday at the sign-up table for you to pick up.  We need as much participation as possible in order to feed our church family as well as our guests. In order for us to know what to expect, please email Lisa Godfrey at godfreygirl@hotmail.com and include from which region of the world your food will be coming.  Thanks in advance for your help and participation in this."

EcuadorCampamento Bautista Chacauco (Baptist Camp of Chacauco) is in the Andes Mountains, about 3 hours south of Quito, Ecuador.  The missions that are run from this camp include community projects and Vacation Bible Schools in nearby villages.  TCC has participated in this mission for several years through financial contributions and mission trips made by members.  During the summer of 2008, TCC student Andrew Lockwood spent 9 weeks with missionaries Steve & Carol Thompson at the camp and was joined by several TCC students and adults for 2 weeks of that time.  Andrew's mission experience is detailed in his blog at the link below.
